What is your opinion on this guy? I was trying to find a decent water poke to put on my team, and I settled on him since he didn't conflict with my other types, while providing good walling capability. Right now My setup is.

Walrein (M) @ Leftovers
Ice Body, Relaxed, 252 Def, 252 SpDef, 4 HP
-Aqua Ring
-Hail
-????/Toxic/Brine/Ice Beam/Substitute
-????/Rest/Super Fang/Dive/Protect

I'm not sure what to run in the last two slots. Super fang and brine together could be good. On the other hand I Could get rid of hail or aqua ring and run double heal instead of triple and swap it with another move for more coverage. What do you think /vp/?

He was a fucking bro in my original ruby run. In competitive however he's kind of shit when you have something like walrein against the staples of OU, but still worth a shot.

thick fat made him practically immune to the ice and fire attacks aimed at the other two. I dont remember what the rest of the team was.

A Bulky Walrein should run a specific build since its natural Bulk 110/90/90.

A partial investment in its HP, a heavy investment in the main defense and the rest either in the other defense to attain better results overall, or in Special Attack to hav any presence, 95 Base isn't bad for a tank/wall, but it won't hit hard if not SE STAB, and you don't want to have to watch things that are weak to you take up to 2 hits before falling.

that is why I suggest the Super fang and Brine combo. Superfang will deal half the targets health which will always put them in range of Brines double damage.

My only real reason is because 3 heals gives him nearly 1/5 his health back at end of turn instead of 1/8. I could swap one with rest and run rest, toxic, hail, super fang or rest hail, superfang, brine.

For Level 50. You need a better defense than HP, the damage rolls are higher so you don't care much about the sheer number of HP, but instead, how much your defense can sponge.

Walrein has a neat 110 base HP, a spread like 60 HP, 196/252 in defenses (the 252 one in the boosted one) can work pretty well. You can adjust as you like the spread, but Walrein will likely hold Leftovers, 60 HP Evs give you 193 HP, Leftovers will recover 12 HP each turn and every attack that's about fixed damage against you will deal 50%-1, since that's how EVERYTHING works.

Super Fang, Brine, Frost Breath or Blizzard in a dedicated team are the offensive options.
And since a physical attacker based in Curse don't have a massive output, isn't viable. Most Walrein are either RestTalk with Roar and Frost Breath, Sitrus Berry with Stockpile, Super Fang and Brine or something in the middle.

Going 252 hp, 128 def/spdef is way more efficient but this aside, it is better to maximize your bulk to one end.
