Of course at the time I was living with Christian foster parents who thought Pokemon was the devil, so I had to hide it from them.
Lapras was my favorite G1 Pokemon and to this day she still has a spot on my team.
I mean yeah, the Genwunners are partially right. Pokemon used to be good. But it's become even better.
More types, abilities, items, moves, and strategies. Better graphics and music, a deeper story, etc.
I didn't start playing Pokemon seriously until Ruby and Sapphire. I eventually fell out of it and skipped Gen 4 and 5 before I got bought a 2ds and got back in Gen 6.
And I'm glad I got back in when I did, because Pokemon is better then ever. 3D graphics? Trainer customization? Mega Evolutions? Pokemon Amie? We would have loved this shit as a kid.
I love getting random pokemon over wonder trade too. I got a shiny Giratina I shit you not.
I mean are there too many Pokemon that aren't that useful? I'd say so.
But I'm glad that Pokemon is still around because it's constantly evolving with every new set of games.
