Basically, I wanna draw some reaction images specifically for /vp/ based on images used by other boards.
I'm gonna start with Gardevoir based reaction images, but if enough requests come in for other Pokemon I'll consider doing others.

Hence the "hair" maintains its shape but is somewhat flexible at the ends as seen in some of Gardevoirs animations. The assumption of a lack of a proper skeleton also fits how their legs are so thin, and also how the "hair" is the same green as some of the skin, because the visible layer is just that, skin. >>22532157 That's fucking great. However I would argue that Gardevoir does indeed have a traditional skeleton, just one that's much frailer. It's mentioned that it's legs got so thin due to its overwelming psychic power allowing it to float which causes the degeneration of its now useless legs. This kind of degeneration can only occur if Gardevoir has both a skeleton and muscles. Gonna get started on the next one, which is...

I definitely think the 'helmet' is a form of cartilage though, it's not loose so is unlikely to be hair, but its flexible at the ends, enough to sway a little during movement etc. Still gonna be saving all your work btw, keep it coming. Thanks again.

Anonymous
>>22532178 >>22532223 Both explanations make sense, but I'm going with Reaction's because I'm fairly certain that Gardevoir is meant to be that way (Pokemon with thin skeleton/weaker muscles) by design instead of being perceived as a girl-shaped blob of cartilage. The way I see it, Gardevoir has droopy hair on her head, and pale white skin underneath a dress made of some sort of extremely durable fabric. OP, you're good at art, but you really should work on learning how 4chan operates. It's for your own safety. -Never use emoticons. -Don't use your trip when it's not relevant. -Don't link anything personal you don't want saved forever in a 4chan archive. -If someone asks if you're a god, you ALWAYS say yes.

I'm trying a new line style, tell me what you think.

>>22572747 The lines are a lot more consistent, but it's honestly pretty clear you just used the Line tool in flash for everything but the Gardevoir's eyes. That's not bad, but you probably overused it a bit much, leaving no line to fade out nicely at the end, instead being stuck with just the round off at the end. There's also a few slip ups where lines meet, but at that point I'm just nitpicking.

>>22572852 I'm actually using SAI. While I do like the lighter ends to lines, it also causes a lot of inconsistencies. I do everything by hand using a wacom intuos too.
I'll do one more using this line style thats a little more zoomed out.
Anonymous
>>22572917 Close enough, but I could have sworn you drew in flash with what you post. Regardless of program though, it's a bit obvious you only used the Line tool. It's not bad, but the varying lines tend to look a bit better than purely consistent lines.
Also because I forgot to say it in that last post, welcome back!
Reaction-chan !v0nj7ub5Lg
>>22572985 I don't use the line tool, I use the pen tool. I have the stablizer set to S-6 to keep my line smooth too.
Pretty proud of it if it looks like it was done with the line tool.
Anonymous
>>22573025 The lines are pretty smooth, but I was more saying it looked like the Line tool because of the consistent thickness and how they all end in the same small rounded end. It still looks pretty good, but I've just stared at Flash's line tool way too much.
If you don't mind me being a bit rude, I could trace it with Flash's line tool to show you what I mean Reaction-chan !v0nj7ub5Lg
>>22540152 This one was an experience...
Not entirely happy with how it came out, but thats partly due to SexuaLobster messing up Fernando's pose here and I tried to capture that same pose.

>>22573237 I've no doubt it's easier to work with, but the end result also looks a bit cheaper. Not trying to get stingy over free art here, and I'm super thankful that you're doing this, but just giving some critique on the style in general. I was able to whip up pic related in a pretty short time in flash with very little difference, just something to keep in mind I guess.

Reaction-chan !v0nj7ub5Lg
>>22573613 I'm not too worried about it looking a little cheaper, since I'm not having to put as much effort into it anyway.
I tried to do the OAG using my old method, but I had so much trouble making ends meet (literally) and keeping consistent thickness that it wasn't really worth it.
With the current lines I can get it done in about 3 tries, with the old ones I'd have to do a line a good 10-12 times to get it right...
But thanks for the critique, maybe for more detailed or personal drawings I'll go with the older lines.
... REALLY happy with this one...
I even went and made an example.

It's certainly not all gold, and the best stuff does get stolen and posted around Tumblr, but chances are it came from Pixiv first.
