Depends on your personal rules. I usually don't do trades, but if I do, I consider it for that area/city. I would say no to catching a pokemon just to trade. Only time I have ever caught a pokemon for something like that was to evolve shellmet/karrablast then release it right away.

Is there any consensus on Amie for Nuzlocke in gen 6? The benefits of reaching 5/5 help you tremendously (+crit. chance, shaking off status randomly, surviving with 1 HP randomly, evasion boost, EXP boost etc.), so maybe not.

But at the same time, the whole idea of bonding with your Pokemon seems to be in the spirit of Nuzlocke.

I was stupid enough to try a quick ball on Kyogre and lost half of my team in three moves (Lombre, Machoke, and Mightyena). Just killed it after that.

Just started a WonderLocke on Alpha Sapphire. Want to limit my roster to Hoenn Pokemon though, but they still seem pretty rare on Wonder Trade. And the ones I do get are at a high level. This may take some time.

Rules:
1. You must designate certain points where you dump your team (either releasing them or boxing them) and catch new Pokémon. (after every gym battle, every other gym, after rival battles, etc.)
2. Your final team must consist of six Pokémon, one of them being a legendary. (pseudo-legendaries do not count as legendaries)
3. After the 5th gym, you're allowed to keep at least one Pokémon for a future team for the rest of the game. (ex. N's Klink/Klinklang)
4. For each gym battle, you should have at least three different Pokémon on your team.
5. You may not trade/hack Pokémon into your game until after you've completed your challenge. There are plenty of wild Pokémon for you to use.

It's not even suppose to be a nuzlocke in the first place. It's just using unevolved Pokemon as a self-imposed challenged. That's really the basis for it. You can add it as a condition to a nuzlocke, but, it's no inherently a nuzlocke itself.

My favorite is gen 3, prolly the easiest to start on as well. Gen 1 can be boring, gen 2 is fine but training is long so deaths hit harder. 4 and 5 are similar. Randomizing makes it tons of fun as well.

I mean it is what it is. When it first started it was new and exciting and you'd have Soran and Tyfrax and some other canadian fucks stream everyday. Then they left and some new people took over but it wasn't the same. They stopped allowing streams for a while then it died until some people brought it back to some semblence of life

I've been doing Heartgold for the past week and this shit is ridiculous.
Morty's Gengar really messed me up, but what really got me is my entire party (exlcuding my Nidoqueen) was sweeped by a double battle. I wanted to train before the 5th gym and went to the mountains near the safari zone only to find a level 25 Electabuzz and Magmar that constantly 1HKO'd me (or two-hit because they always targeted the same person).

My Nidoqueen survived with 1hp and then proceeded to level up and gain an extra 3.
Everyone else is dead.

My shit has officially been wrecked.
I've lost everything and am now training low leveled pokemon in hopes that I can still make it.

This storm silver nuzlocke is testing me, my first catch in union cave was a modest zubat with anticipation as it's ability. Immediately boxed. Grinding in there later I find and catch a shiny makuhita who turns out to have an adamant nature and thick fat. It's gotta be a test right? You can catch but not use shiny mons is the rule or am I wrong?

This is an incredibly based Nuzlocke team. I plan on grabbing Red Gyarados when I get to that point. I'm also thinking about switching Feraligatr or maybe someone else to get another special attacker (if the opportunity presents itself)

Figured if i caught one it'd just be in the party that much quicker, then again, buying it is a much easier route to take

I am not sure what is going to become of the party since the game hands me Torchic and Mudkip later on, may just switch out Treecko and just keep Mudkip to avoid starter saturation
