Yeah, that's one tournament and it doesn't say anything about either nbs or smogons overal userbase. Since that tourney has a cash price and was well advertised and all there's a shitton of people in, alot of them will not stay as permanent users though. Both nb and smogon have users from all over the world, i know that since i actually checked the numbers and use both sites and know both communities fairly well. Smogon has especially big european and latin american demographics for example. So yeah, i'd really like to know where you got the idea that smogon is only an american community and that its in any way obsolete.

Yes their gen 6 handling is embarrassing. I supported them the last 2 gens but the site and community has gone to complete shit. The Aegislash and Greninja bans showed that it doesn't matter how many flaws a Pokemon has, as long as it triggers their comfort zone playstyle, it's banned. Then you've got kokoloko turning UU into an absolute joke that can't stay stable for 24 hours.

As the post says, they have big flaws which prevent them from actually being broken and worth banning, but Smogon ignores them because they don't want to play a certain way. Unlike something like Mega Kangaskhan which you can actually argue does break the game. They've gone on a power trip and forgotten what the purpose of bans are in the first place.

In 4th gen and to a lesser extent 5th gen every ban was justified because of brokenness. Somewhere down the line it was decided to just throw that all out the window.

Salamence actually slipped my mind, it's been too long, I just thought of Garchomp and Latias if that counts. I left after the Aegislash fiasco and I plan to never return until they realise their OU-meta is a fiasco where everyone ask to ban for personal reasons and not for brokeness, especially if it's an offensive threat.

Not only that, but I never understood why they ban whole pokemons because of a broken move, ability, or combination of the pokemon with those things.

Smogon really needs to start from scratch, not only on its bans but how they decide it. Until then, I'll keep playing VGC, where rules are clear and not decided by a fake democracy or whatever.

I'd like a BL between OU and Ubers to be honest, something like:

Smogon should just turn AG into a real tier with most of regualar clauses, ban P-Groudon, P-Kyogre, M-Salamence and M-Gengar there to return Ubers back to its XY state minus Gengar, make an universal clause of not being allowed to megaevolve if you hold an useful item to make M-Rayquaza more manageable in AG, then see how does ubers without Arceus-N, Kyogre and Geomancy look like. Even without the last point, Ubers would be a much more friendly place for OU rejects like Greninja, M-Lucario and soon to be M-Metagross.
