>>22954517Not him but the story was pretty detached in some parts especially on your trek to Snowpoint where time apparently stopped around you and Galactic didn't enact their plan until they got there.
I also don't think he was talking about power creep as much as legendary power in terms of lore. Until the Pokegods, most legendaries were either elusive, created by humans or the equivalent of an alpha T-Rex in the modern day with pokemon powers.
As for competitive, I agree with you there but then again it was the point where GF started to move to double battles and create Pokemon around that causing a split between players and the creation of things like Smogon.
Also you seem to have ignored the Contest and base part. Also the Battle Frontier had a lot of content removed from it.
Then there were other things like the lack of fire types in DP, Charon being shoehorned in Plat, the limited postgame, overuse of HMs, Manaphy requiring another game to get, Poffins in general, snow and marshland, the terrible GTS I could go on.
It certainly did do SOME things right but it fell so far in a lot of areas. In all honesty, it's why people praise gen 5 (as a whole).
Not only did it have a good story but it fixed most of the problems with gen 4 and did what it failed to do.
Also, you should try to refrain from adding your opinion about the music and other things like that. It doesn't exactly bolster your argument.
