Skylanders is actually good though if you can get past the toy gimmick.
What you get with a starter pack is enough to beat the whole game and get all the achievements/trophies if your console has them. There's bonus optional areas you need one Skylander of each type to access to 100% the games, but that's it.

skylanders is better because more effort was put into the game. ie levelling up, better story, better graphics.

Unless you have a burning need to play every single character, you really don't end up spending that much. More than a normal game yes, but the figures themselves are pretty neat.

The kids that I know that play skylanders try to get one of each element and then just pick up some cool looking ones after that. I don't know any that are actively trying to get them all because Skylanders never pushed that angle.

And for the actual target audience, paying for the toys is not just paying to play as new characters in a game, they also get cool toys to play with.

Sweet lord Hard Mode doesn't fool around, and with time limit it can get extremelly hard.

Precipice Blades is pretty good. It's just this extremely fast, massive, lingering aoe. It also hits breakable objects 3 times for some reason.

It doesn't seem very strong compared to other legendary signature moves, but the only other legendary I have is Lugia and that fucker can oneshot flying-weak bosses with Aeroblast.

Considering browser explot is dead now, I doubt another will happen soon. Honestly, I ended buying $10 in diamonds and I feel it was a very good investment, got all the balloons except for the Legend one which I'm planning to invest just a bit more, wobbly and special trait trees and time stops so I could get to legendaries easily. I've been putting a lot of hours in this game and I feel the money is worth it, pretty sure with 5 more dollars I'll be set to complete the whole Pokedex.

Go in hoping for a Zekrom, come out with a pile of Gothitelles.

Does Wobbling or Catch Rate feel like it's affected by type advantage or attack power? I got one wobble at half health from a Gutsy Electrode spamming Electro Ball on the thing while it was spraying steam. My Wobble Tree's only level 1 though because balloons are expensive.

also my go-to-catch mon is a lightscreen+megadrain low level gutsy snivy
it does little damage and keeps itself healthy
lightscreen prevents it from instadying

if my target drops too much I send a pokemon to heal my target, with healpulse or pain split

Replying hours later.

I'm gonna say that the 10 dolas y spent on the game were very helpful, I'm Rank 51 now with only Legend Balloon not purchased, have managed to get all legendaries and bosses thanks to the wobbly trees and I'm drowning in P also, that along diamonds spent to select stages at will. I'd say with 15 dollars you're set to get almost everything important.

I'm still not done unlocking shop stuff yet, rank 75 gets you star 3 frame for 400k, rank 77 gets you gold 2 frame for 900k. I'd be doing this a lot faster, but only getting 20 diamonds a day slows the gameplay to a crawl

Killing all the spans means you can Endeavor the boss into wobbling and then safely switch to a hard-hitter. without some spawn getting in the way. It makes a catch pretty much guaranteed.

To guarantee a catch, knock it down to near death, then Endeavor while it smokes white until it wobbles, before switching to a powerful Pokemon and landing the final few hits.
Doing this while there's still spawn in the room is risky, so you should kill them all beforehand.

Yes, but the extras you get from the 3000 are basically required if you're planning on 100% the game without relying on RNG. Just because you have all the balloons doesn't mean it isn't going to take months of coming back to it to get everything. Not to mention everything past the Sinnoh balloons takes like 10 hours to reload without paying the diamonds for it.

Wait...are you telling me that the cooldown period INCREASES the rarer the balloon is?

Yes. Sinnoh is like an hour and a half if I recall correctly, Origin is supposedly five or eight hours? It also costs a bunch of diamonds unless you get the VIP pass(Which you get from buying all the diamonds) which drops the price to a single diamond and you get 20 a day for free.

Just a note, if a pokemon starts wobbling and it dies of poison, it won't drop. So it'd probably be a good idea to not use any poisoning moves when you're trying to catch something.

No. It gives you a pass that makes it so every balloon only costs 1 diamond to refill as opposed to the 10 or so they would cost for the endgame ones, and they give you 20 diamonds daily to help out. It also makes the stopper only cost one diamond instead of two.

I know that the Miis you rescue and the ones that are just standing there can give out gems, but I don't think they give anything other than the coin at the end. At, least I hope they don't. Charizard comes with a mega stone.

Everything else is basically worth getting if you haven't gotten the Pokemon yet or need the 4-5 star moves for your move tutor. Got from 34 to 36 with this.

It's an arena-type game where you walk from arena to arena fighting Pokemon and having a chance of them dropping a toy of themselves for you to use. You get stronger and get better Pokemon to tackle higher challenges to get stronger Pokemon, etc. It's pretty fun, and the bosses can be assholes, but don't expect the world from it.

Don't expect to get everything as a F2P either. The most you can get as a free player is maybe the Sinnoh balloons if you're lucky, and don't waste your diamonds unless it's on balloons or Wobble/Special Trait trees.

All the Skylanders games also have a better plot, co-op and competitive multiplayer. The levels also have different structures and actually look different unlike Rumble, and there's minigames to shake things up.

You have to throw them all out in this one and find the evolved forms manually. The other Rumble games let you throw out 10 and you get the evolved form.

If those features are basic as all hell it shouldn't in fact it should get a lower score if it has more features but none of the substance because that indicates a rushed game or one churned out with only a modicum of thought put into it.

Also if you ask me one of the few reasons it gets a bit more praise is because it lived off of Spyro to begin with. Alone it wouldn't have worked as well.

The kids this is targeted at didn't even know about Spyro, it succeeded because it combined a novelty gimmick with simple, but fun gameplay.

you can try and revisit the stages and when a new forme appears you dont attack it directly and use something to wobble it instead
not always work, sometimes the non-bosses have just too little health

Endeavor is literally the best move you can possible use. Fuck using Focus Energy, Endeavor does a constant 1 damage after a point and the amount of health it takes the enemy down to usually means it only takes two super-effective hits to kill.

I'm with you there buddy, it sure seems random. Sometimes the stage doesn't have him what makes the 3 hour cool down that much more killer. So far I only got Heat, accidentally killed a normal one before I could wobble it, and had to kill a water one because it was beating up a Mii.
