>>24721910Got through enough of N and Team Plasma to understand what was happening. They aren't exactly original compared to previous gen villains.
>>24721936Not the starters, and necessarily the rivals, although I do prefer the gen 1 rival to the cliché archetypes that are the nerd boy and timid girl; it's obvious that he will learn that there's more to battling than calculations, and she will learn how to assert herself through her experience with Pokemon.
The game feels similar to gen 1, but it feels hollow so far. It's sadly ineffable beyond saying that when I was walking to Juniper's lab, I wished I was walking to Oak's lab. We'll see.
>>24721938I picked Tepig because there are more water and grass types that interest me from gen 5; such as Leavanny, Lilligant, Maractus, Sawsbuck, Seismatoad, Carracosta, Swana, and Jellicient. Whereas fire only has a couple of options outside of Tepig. The monkeys don't appeal to me. Are they useful early game?
>>24721985I don't consider myself a genwunner. But, like I said, the game has gen one similarities, but it seems hollow; leaving me longing for the original more than the thing trying to replace it.
>>24722006If I come across another fire type, I will definitely switch it out. Pokemon games don't typically let you get non-starter fire types early on, so I imagine I'll be with this little pig for a while.
