I have like 30 Calciums and Protiens to buff Kecleon up, enough to use a few each run. All those buried vitamins, all those Western Cave runs, were all to fuel Kecleon.

At the very least, it'll be more fun than level/IQ grinding

Got to floor 20, levels so far are level 16 Kecleon, level 14 Charizard, and level 17 Wooper. Wooper's main jobs are throwing stuff, having Surf to actually GET to Wish Cave, and preventing explosions. Charizard's just along because of Heat Wave, and Kecleon's the main deal. I abused some move linking on some Skarmory to powerlevel this high this early, all that farming got me 21k EXP. I have not found a single Max Elixer, and forgot to bring some in from outside, but I have faith that I'll find either those, or some extra Reviver Seeds to cover that.

Calling it a night now, maybe with all these Wish Cave runs, some anon will get ideas on what to do if they do some.

long story short, i spent like an hour and a half last night farming Skarmory on 18-19f, and then 2 hours today to get to 65f to find an escape orb.

I just beat SMD a while ago; when do I get to use Shelmet again? He was fucking based as a unit back in Serene Village (Struggle Bug best move ever), and although it was a bit understandable losing access to him, it sort of isn't now that I again have access to the village and everyone isn't turned into stone and shit.

I'm certain he'd still be good; my Mudkip MC is only level 24, and I'm pretty sure Shelmet was already like level 22 way back when.

I just beat Sacred Ruins, and not with hawlucha
After failing multiple times with charizard, I tried with suicune and got on the second try
I forgot to reset for tailwind, so my starting set was Hpump+leer+extrasensory+bite
I changed leer when it learned bubble beam by level up
Also I guess it was a somewhat lucky run, with a total of 3 tiny reviver seeds and 1 reviver seed I didn't use. 3 from kekleon shop, 1 from sparkling floor.

I will share some hints if anyone else wants to give suicune/sacred ruins a shot:
>You probably should reset for tailwind, leer is really useless
>Bite is shit, use Hpump/bubblebeam for ghosts. If you keep bite use for when you want to save PP finishing someone off.
> better just use Hpump for cloyster too, not worthy to try to get close for a extrasensory. It can shell smash and Hpump you from a distance.
> Kill babies with A attack to save pp
> You can't really do shit against Pelipper and it has tailwind+Hpump too and will gang up on you, avoid or you'll be burning too much PP
> Bellosson is the Devil. Go full panic, warp it away or warp away from it or die. It will also fuck your whole floor run with sunny day since Hpump is your main power. (I actually tanked a petal blizzard at the 37 floor at 100+hp, see pic for stats)
> Suicune is really good for hunting Delphox/Braixen and farming wands. Just keep a safe distance from shadow ball and hope it doesn't use any really bad wand on you
>Used all emeras on me but the one that locates items on the floor, intimidator that saved my ass multiple times making foes miss, and the one that prevent stat lowering. Those 3 were very useful in a basic looplet. Also used one awakening at floor 36.
> Walk a lot on water to avoid unecessary enemies and traps
>Just because you are a water type it doesnt mean you can go head on against Pyroar. It takes 2 or 3 hydro pump easily, especially when delibird is healing it, and it will Hyper Beam you back for pretty much a guaranteed KO

No, any 3DS can do that. The Miiverse lets you post screenshots from some games, but that's an artificial limitation Nintendo put for no reason. If you run homebrew you can take screens of whatever game you want. HANS and NTR do this job pretty well, just run them before launching the game.

Meaning that all three of you were asleep on Lapras for a couple days
Because the relative of distance from one side of the globe to the next, by sea no less, makes that a couple days to a week to even a month

See, if Latios or Latias were your way fo transportation, then that would make sense since they fly at sonic boom speeds. So reaching there in, say, a couple hours, is plausible
But one day from Water to Grass?

And the trip to Entei's penhouse with the team. They tell you that it's in three days. But what happens if you took an expedition overseas? That's way beyond a three day trip

Doesn't the intro when your first traveling to Serene Village say that it took a couple days to get there too?
Shit like this makes it kinda strange that you'd have to go all the way back to Lively town after completing missions on other continents. When I first found out that there'd be multiple towns I assumed that there'd be some way to stay in those towns overnight. It would have made it slightly less tedious to do missions on other continents if that were the case.

And this would make the best sense too since your virtually overseas, in a different continent, on the other side of the planet
Why would you take an x day trip overseas to a continent, do an expedition, and take another x day trip back to the Water Continent

And the trip from Serene Village to Lively town makes it make even LESS sense.It takes you a couple days to walk/run/escape castle Driblim to get to Lively down, but a couple hours to go over seas to a completely different continent?

As for the distance, and they days in which it takes you to get from Grass to Water, show some time passing. Have it so depending on distance, it randomizes on if you arrive during the day or at night.
If it's at night then after the expedition you spend the night in the continent. Boom, the next day you wake up there and can do another expedition on that continent or set sail to another continent. If it's during the day you come back to the hub world on set continent (But you can't do another expedition because got to keep it close to the OG) and can go overseas to another continent. Of course, you would need to go back to the Water continent for the Rank Up, but still.

You're almost never allowed to use them. Take one along once, and see what happens after that.

You can evolve any Pokemon in the postgame, but there's no reason to since you get one of every Pokemon.

Wish Cave guarantees a recruit, and has very high exp yield enemies in Skarmory, and the much more dangerous Electrode. Through farming correctly, you can get Screech around 90f. Link this and you deal 400+ damage to Jirachi.

Joyous Tower has Doubleslap Skitty, many more deadly enemies, and NO good way to level up. It has Joy Seeds randomly, yes, but that's luck reliant. It's much too risky. Not to mention the rock bottom chance of getting Chansey.

Simply put, it's too deep in, too luck reliant, and too dangerous. I have a 100% success rate in Wish Cave, whereas when I tried to recruit Skitty, it KO'd me in one turn with Doubleslap. Nothing in Wish Cave comes close to that sort of deadly, except maybe Electrode.

I run Kecleon/Charizard/Wooper.

Kecleon is the main event, the strongest pokemon for the dungeon. I bring in a couple attack boosting drinks, since i have like 20 of each. My final moveset was Lick/Psybeam/Screech+Fury Swipes. I finished at level 24

Charizard is there for Heat Wave. Walk into a monster house? Just switch places with Charizard, and set it to use only Heat Wave. I recommend bringing a Flamethrower TM.

Wooper's an odd choice, but it knows Surf, which I need to GET to Wish Cave with. Inside, I give it 99 Sticks, which it uses to snipe enemies with. That damage adds up, too. It can learn Ice Beam, too, which is neat. Its Damp ability also cockblocks pokemon like Forretress and Graveler, saving you a ton of HP. Levels up decently fast compared to Charizard, but is the weakest member. Still very worth taking with.

Here's a checklist of items to bring in.

Tight Belt, not too important since the place has Huge Apples out the ass, but for farming exp early on, it's amazing to have
X-Ray Specs, knowing where enemies are is HUGE
Special Band, give to Charizard
99 Sticks, for Wooper
99 Gravelerocks
2 or 3 Reviver Seeds
1 or 2 Oran Berries
1 Huge Apple just in case
1 Heal Seed
1 or 2 Max Elixers, I forgot them once and it wasn't fun
1 Protein and Calcium, for Kecleon
THE WISH STONE, DO NOT FORGET THIS LIKE I DID ONCE.
1 Cleanse/Escape/Petrify/Warp Orb, maybe a Decoy Orb too
A Frustration TM, teach to Wooper
a Link Box or 2, i link Scratch/Ember on Charizard, and whatever 2 attacks on Wooper. The reason for this is listed later.

Floor 1-17: Just fully explore the floor with your Tight Belt on, nothing here can kill Kecleon, unless Togepi magically randoms Dragon Rage. Use your default attack on a lot of stuff to conserve PP. Grab up all the money and items you can. Switch Exclusive Move User on for all members.

Floor 18-19: The Skarmory Floors. Using a linked move on these nets you 498 Exp, FAR more than anything else. Beware of Machop, it knows Leer, and after a bunch of uses, Skarmory becomes dangerous. Try to sit near a Wonder Tile. Swinub is a nonissue. Just farm exp here as long as possible, leaving only after the wind blows twice. You'll need to switch Item Master off on Wooper to make it use its linked move, but be sure that Charizard/Wooper are set to only use their linked move. After they attack, switch places and finish the bird off with Gravelerocks or your default attack. Don't worry about the moves delinking from lack of PP, linked moves aren't important for those 2 anymore. At floor 20, i can usually get my team to level 16 Kecleon, level 14 Charizard, and level 17 Wooper.

Floor 21-45: Nothing here is a major threat. Abra gives decent Exp, but it warps away at the drop of a had, and has high stats. It doesn't have actual attacks though. If you see thorns and spikes laying around, grab them. Sticks, let Wooper pick up. Buy up all the Max Elixers you can and use them, and maybe buy a Reviver Seed or 2 if you can. Get all items on floor here.

Floor 46-50: Kadabra spawns here, the first huge threat. Gives fantastic exp, but is a very high level, can deal a lot of damage from far away. Generally spawn asleep, so watch out. Take them out with Gravelerocks. Floor 50 has the Wish Stone, but only if you don't have one on hand or in storage, good to know if you lost it somehow.

Floor 50-55: Dugtrio and Electrode are the threats here. Dugtrio has Magnitude, and Electrode has Screech, which is deadly if you run into Hitmonlee, and Sonicboom, a heavily damaging attack.

Floor 56-81: A lot of enemies can poison you here. Outside that, it's not too bad. If an enemy wants to join, let them, but turn Item Master off for them, and set them to only use attacking moves. Beware of Porygon2 at floor 70 to 84, it has Psybeam

Floors 81-90: Shuppet appears in the walls from 81-84f. Beware of all red spots on your map, these guys can use Spite. By this point, you should have a spare Link Box found on the floor, and Kecleon should be hitting level 24, getting Screech. Delete Thief for Screech, and link it with fury Swipes. This destroys EVERYTHING in the dungeon

Floors 91:98. The home stretch, just beware of Dusclops, it'll lower your PP with Pressure, and Scizor, who knows Agility

Floor 99: Piece of cake. Screech+Fury Swipes=win. Wish for something good, but make sure you have all Unown and max rank.

Man, everything in Super is just so slow and time-consuming. Having to ride Lapras between continents instead if being able to choose every dungeon from one list, endlessly drawn out fights, random pauses after KOing an enemy, even just not being able to press A to skip past the screen showing the new floor number.

I didn't play gates to infinity (mostly because I didn't know it had come out) but everyone said it was shit. The last one I had played was Explorers of Sky.

I'm not really having that much fun with SMD, but I remember really liking all the previous ones I had played.

Did they change something or do I just not enjoy this spin-offanymore.

Also the "tutorial" being like 4 hours or something was a big starting block.

I just now unlocked the ability to rank up via the globe thing.

My main gripes with it mechanically are that every move seems to have an accuracy of like fucking 60-70%, even normal shit like tackle or mud bomb. Speaking of the moves I'm level 20 and I've only gotten a single combat move since I've started.

The damage/health system seems kind of inherently imbalanced too, this was more of a problem at the beginning and seems to be lessening, but moves will regularly deal 1/4 of your health and then you just try to do the same and kill them. I get there's the regen health but it just seems weird.

Also, are you supposed to be using alliance attacks for most fights? I've only used them for 'boss'es or pokes that are a large threats.

They're little gems you find in dungeons. You can set them in the looplet, and then you have that effect until the end of the dungeon. It's an ok system I guess but I honestly just think it'd be better if you could just have them in some sort of permanent sense. Like buy them or something.

PP seems pretty low, as does accuracy.

You can "level up" moves which increase both, but that seems like a pretty shitty system to be honest.

It does seem pretty hard for a pokemon game (though it's been a decade since I played mystery dungeon) so I'm not sure if you're supposed to grind a lot.

Bullet Seed isn't a TM any more, otherwise the other grass starters would be more on the level with Chespin, but if you don't have a way to instakill stuff (which multi-hit moves are best at), you need a way to sustain your HP during long fights. Like Giga Drain, or Drain Punch. Coincidentally, Chespin gets both.

Let me make this clear: Evolving does not influence stats at all. All it changes is type, if applicable, and movepool. That said, you don't need to evolve Snivy, but Infernape may learn a lot more moves plus the useful Fighting type. That said, with that added, you two would be kinda fucked over by flying-type moves, so tread carefully.

That last fight is fucking bullshit. It kills you in one swipe and you can't even use wands and you would need to play the fucking dungeon and keep holding B during the never ending epic to start again.

at least one or two petrify/sleep orbs for monster houses
and then a bunch of different wands for emergencies.
In total I end up with around 23 items in my inventory.

Are you connected with him yet? If you do enough missions after finishing the Purification Cave and talk to him he'll connect. After that you get a new menu that lets you buy treasure, including looplets.

This is a shitty practice. Form your own opinions. Granted, it's easier to say that when money's no object, but seriously, just try them out - Gates and Super, both. I'd call Gates a low point in the series, but that doesn't mean it's not a good game - it's just not as good as the others, in certain respects.
