I also started with Genwun. Got into the franchise when I was 7, but I was probably 8 or 9 when I first played the games (Red and Gold were my first)
Then I found /vp/ back when it was called /tr/.
You're an anomaly, because you, like me, are part of the original audience that didn't drop the franchise. You have to at least acknowledge that there was a large influx of younger new fans that joined the franchise with Gen 3.
