Strange Souvenir is the only of the three items brought up so far that has a somewhat complicated in-game event to obtain. They're not going to have a Gen 6.5 because it will break compatibility more than formes would. If they make another Kalos game it won't have Magearna since it's a brand new Pokémon. Game Freak has never added a new Pokémon into a current Generation gane and they're not going to start now.

That unlike every other forme before, doesn't work with battles with the previous version.

On top of that there are items and abilities that aren't in XY that break compatibility.

Yes they have dumbass. It's just that the older game doesn't show the sprite. But they still work if you're playing against someone with an older version and they keep the type/stat differences. 6th gen is the first time they stopped caring about compatibility period.

A new Pokémon is nothing like a new item. The new moves are still minor because those can be removed, but a new Pokémon can't. If you still don't understand the difference in compatibility issues between adding a new Pokémon and a new move/item/forme then you're an idiot. Get rid of the move and you can trade the Pokémon back or battle with a previous game, the items only have to do with formes so they are irrelevant. A new Pokémon can't be used with a previous game whatsoever without a patch so it's not a comparable change.

Gen 6 is the first gen with update support. I fully expect Pokemon Z with new pokemon, and there will most likely be a compatibility update for XY/ORAS.
