I've just beaten the E4 in sapphire and I'm thinking of trying the battle tower. How difficult is it to complete? Would I need to prepare a strong team or are some regular mons fine?

there isn't really any "completing" in sapphire since there are no symbols to win unlike in Emerald. I guess you could consider 105 wins the end because that gives you the final reward (some shield for your secret base I believe)

The opponents aren't that tough in this game, but many consecutive wins are still no cakewalk. You kinda have to know what you're doing. Though I think you could get away with no EV training and just having good team synergy

Getting mons with perfect ivs isn't really necessary but you'll definitely want to make a well-composed team with good natures + EVs.

I'm completing every game before the Sun/Moon release, so I will be doing FRLG after this, then emerald. Not doing alternate versions like ruby though.

R/S Tower is repetitive and like the one in crystal, you never complete it

You'd need good pokemon starting from floors 40

But why bother when Emerald's battle frontier exists and actually has goals
