The entire Alolan Pokedex is amazing so far. I also like the graphical change from chibis to more realistic proportions.

That's a tough one, I can't really single out a favorite type, it's a tie between Water, Fire, Dragon, and Fairy.

A decent storyline/postgame, and more things that will freshen the competitive metagame (already got his with Z-Moves, Alola Forms, etc.)

I like the region itself, the idea of it being split into multiple islands is really cool, and Alola Forms are pretty great as well

I don't think there's really anything specific that I want. I already feel like these are going to be the best Pokemon games yet and I'm obviously super hyped about that.

Honestly the fact that they're changing shit and coming up with all kinds of new stuff to break the usual formula. No Gyms, Totem Pokemon, Alola Forms for example. I also absolutely love all the cool new abilities.

The gimmicky abilities to be legitimate and Pokemon to be very good and unique

Hyper Training because not being able to touch IVs after a mon is "created" is really silly
But for the region itself, definitely the whole splitting up the region into several major islands with their own unique aspects.

a lot of non-linearity. Team Skull to not have a complicated "Reshape the world" plot. Assurance that hms are completely gone.

instead of doubling down on megas they're experimenting small-scale with alternate forms and new abilities. And all of this have given value to the default gen 1 pokemon that have to be traded in. It's smart.

To not have everything revealed to me immediately before the game is actually released. It's impossible to stay away from the leaks, and yet I'm already regretting it.

A game that feels complete and isn't too easy, with a big comfy region to explore (with lots of things hidden away to encourage going off the rails) and lots of new Pokemon to catch, and a postgame that's more than just bike simulator and hax maison. I basically just want the games to be solid and to recapture why I love this series, because I've felt like that was missing in the last gen. It won't happen but I want Secret Bases to come back because making a base in Alola looks like the comfiest shit ever

The new Pokemon, the actual Alola region, and the fact that the new Team hopefully isn't a cult out to recreate/destroy/rule the world, but just a bunch of people who don't care for the laws and want money, and will hopefully be huge punchable jerks. Also really loving the new abilities we've been getting, and the fact that HMs might actually be gone. Trials seem neat, and the new Amie mechanics have me excited.

Honestly I'm hard to genuinely hype up, but I have a little spark of hope for this gen.

A reasonable difficulty curve. I'm not expecting a huge challenge, just something more like Platinum or BW as opposed to XY and ORAS
