How would you feel if Nintendo decided to secure the market for the NX by making a new Pokemon series from scratch (or Gen 1)? Not talking about niche games like Pokken, but a full-fledged adventure.
Would you rather have roughly the same experience as handheld games provide but with modern console graphics or would you rather look for a completely different approach to the old concept?
Would you rather like GameFreak to take a shot at this at the cost of discontinuing development of handheld series (someone else could take this one over) or would you like some other dev team to take shot at this?
