Heracross, Toxicroak, Archeops, Tyrantrum, Venusaur and Machamp are pretty great. I prefer Soulsilver and White 2, personally.

Why are all fossil pokemon rock types? I mean I understand that a fossil is an imprint on a rock but if their resurrecting them, why do they stay rocks? It would be cool if rock types were the "first type" but mew exists so that doesn't work.

Nidoking actually used to be my favorite Pokémon before I switched to Kecleon and both final stages are probably within my top 20.

The two explanations I've heard are that 1) the Pokémon becomes a Rock-type due to the fossilization process, and that the revival isn't perfect, so it retains those qualities, and 2) that Rock-type Pokémon are easier to fossilize, explaining why all of our fossil mons are Rock-type.
