Because it comes in and you send out your living Weavile into a Dragon Claw. Then if Weavile is still alive, it switches out, and you have a nearly dead Weavile with nothing to show for it. It can just switch in again, Intimidate again, and Mega Evolve when it damn well pleases.

It has few, if any counters. Things can check it, but then it just switches out, and you loose from that exchange, since you only landed an Ice Shard on a Heatran or something, while Salamence fucking killed something.

The thing is Mega Aggron has to rely on Rest for recovery, and gets forced out by any bulky Water since it can't touch it. It's more effective in tighter formats like Battle Spot Singles.

I brought a Mega Aggron to Battle of Hoenn because it could take on Mega Salamence and Mega Metagross and Lati@s.

It's a pain to deal with and it basically gets a free kill once it's behind a sub, and you're almost guaranteed to want to switch because of Intimidate + having the best defensive typing in the whole fucking game.

Checks don't stop Mega Mawile from ripping your team open each time it comes in, counters do. Checks are there to force it out.

Smogon thinks a meta based around hazards is healthy, which it kind of is in a sense since switching in and out is a big part of Pokemon but Stealth Rocks needs to be balanced in some capacity. It's not a Smogon problem its a Gamefreak problem

It's not because it's "unfun"

It's because stealth rocks has a defined function where only certain amounts of Pokemon can set it, whereas in term a similar number can remove it.

Evasion can be used by every Pokemon that can use Tm's and turns everything into a coin flip, except you have to flip like 4 at once to damage the thing
