They probably get government checks for supporting their trainer-spawn. I mean, aren't the fathers usually professional trainers? There's gotta be some kind of child support happening at the very least.
The only pokemon mom I can remember ever holding some kind of job was the mother in bw2, who keeps going on about her past career as a pokemon center nurse.
