I understand wanting to play as a girl in Pokemon. Pokegirls are great, and i'm just starting a female MC run but how do you decide on your name? Boys thread only, no girls allowed.

I put random letters together and arrange them to make it sound sort of like a female name.

i often use the girls canon name, ie lyra/kotone or hilda/touko. other times i use a shortened version/nickname of my own name, or even just my name itself because i dont have a super masculine name, so i dont end up awkwardly with a cute donut haired girl being named "hank" or anything.

I've picked names of girls I had crushes on when I was little.

I've used names I thought were cute.

The default name.

Ass before the censor, or my usual username for websites.

Someone asked why I always picked female with the name "Ass." It was hard to get out of that situation. I think he believed me when I said "I think it's funny."

It means rainbow in Quiche, started using that name in Gen6, literally the only gen I played as female and didn't name the girl after wathever I was eating.

I literally named girl characters, rice, beer, Doritos, burger and waffles in some of my challenge re runs.

I was just thinking this yesterday. I thought of naming the protag her canon name, but it wouldn't feel like myself. So instead I was considering naming her my actual name as if whenever a NPC comes up to me, they're addressing me as opposed to the protag. I was wondering what does /vp/ think of this?

Well, back when I was forced to play a boy in Gen 1 and Gen 2 (until Crystal), I just picked a name of one of the kids in my class. My name is not gender neutral, so that was the best option for me.

For games where I played the male for variety, I generally go with one of my male original character's names.

Really, just pick a name you like if you don't want to take a name from a real life source. Though I use to do >>28953172 this for pokemon names, so that's a good alternative.
