>>29686826Realistic answer? Alola heavily leans on the Galapagos Islands idea of pokemon adapting to their environment. So I would look at real-world animals and draw inspiration from there. For example:
>Dark/Flying-type Spearow lineBased on a set of finches that drink the blood of other animals.
Give it some draining moves like Leech Life, and maybe flip the Sp.Atk and Atk stats. I would darken the colour palette and maybe give them blood-red beaks.
>Water-type Ekans lineBased on a land snake that feeds on fish underwater.
Give it Dive/Aqua Tail/other moves. Give it Swift Swim or Tough Jaws. Tone down the elaborate markings on Arbok and make it more streamlined.

Then I would think about other 'generic' adaptions for pokemon. For example:
>Grass/Water-type Tangela lineThey moved into the Alolan waters as cities developed, and covered themselves in seaweed instead.
>Steel-type TaurosAdapting to life grazing on the sides of Alola's steep mountains, Tauros developed diamond-hard bodies to help them break rock and lath themselves onto the rocky hillsides. Tauros would be 'plated' in steel armour - helmet/saddle/hooves - like a horse in battle.
>Water-type DewgongFatter than regular Dewgong, greyer like a Monk Seal. They adapted to warmer waters by adding a layer of blubber and relaxing on Alolan shorelines. Thick Fat as an ability, with higher defenses and less speed.
>Bug-type ParasectThe mushrooms cannot stand the harsh Alolan heat, allowing Paras to gain the upper hand and generate immunity to their parasitic attacks when it evolves. Parasect is a speedy, spider-like pokemon. It has Immunity and Poison Heal as abilities.
