Thanks for the heads up Anon. I'm thinking about buying an upgrade for my boyfriend. His 3DS XL has a battery problem and has to stay plugged in at all times.

Is the extra handspace worth an extra $100 to buy the Pokemon Sun and Moon DS?

The design is pretty slick and the size is pretty good. It's the same size as a regular 3DS XL, so he should be familiar with it already. It just depends if you want a Pokemon design on it or not

I'd be extra interested if they were XLs. I have big hands and my current 3ds is so small it causes them to cramp from time to time.

The small model has swappable faceplates, anyway. Unless your hands are so huge that you find normal-sized handhelds hard to play, you should probably go for the smaller one.

downgrade is possible but its a pain right now, if you already have a cfw 3ds you can downgrade a new one. that or a hardmod

If downgrade was relatively safe this would be such an easy buy. $99 for a N3DS is a great deal, 11.2 is just annoying though
