Why is this fucking shit allowed? I *LITERALLY* cannot catch a Magby because the fucker can call for help infinitely. He even gets to call for help on top of his move. It's good for grinding but makes actually catching anything a fucking nightmare.

This is not true unfortunately.It CAN and often DOES get infinite aid until you either throw your 3DS at a wall or just faint it in frustration.

I boxed my Pikachu for a Charjabug without thunderwave. Spark failed to paralyze Magby and now I'm fucked. I'm gaining XP like crazy but the fucker managed to call out a Magmar and now I'm trying to catch that. Anyway the mechanic is clearly flawed and they should have harcoded a limit of 2-3 assists before a wild Pokemon gets cut off for good. The way it currently stands is just inexcusable.

It's excused by the fact that after 20-30 chains it has a chance for HA, guaranteed 4 perfect IVs, and massively increased chance to become a shiny. Also after a chain of about 15, it maxes you EVs for the stat that Pokémon gives EVs for.

Pretty excusable IMO.

Always carry a paralysis move. I had Ribombee with Stun Spore and Magneton with Thunder Wave for the longest.

Had to get rid of Stun Spore for Quiver Dance recently, though.

My favorite part of pokemon is catching them. The problem is that it was always too easy to catch anything but a legendary. This is a lot of fun for me because it increases the challenge but it's not tedious and annoying like hordes.

Honestly, having two pokemon team up is pretty tough when you are trying to catch one. One weak pokemon using sand attack is laughable but 2 becomes a real concern.

Every time they call for help and nobody answers I can't help but laugh. Hasn't gotten old yet.

If you use a second orb it just goes "but nothing happened!" And doesn't consume it. You can also use antidote on a non-poisoned Pokémon for the same effect.
