Thats why I love the new alolan forms so much because in this series evolution is a key element and having evolutionary variation based on regions makes alot of sense.
But Megas IMO dont fit in with the series lore or world, they seem like they just wanted to add something new and shocking and "mega" if you know what im saying.

Gamefreak will never add dozen of items or Pokemon via patch. They do not have content patches. Only fixes
