Is there a tool like Serebii's moveset searcher that lets you exclude certain Pokemon? Sometimes it comes up with a shitton of possible Pokemon but it includes NFEs and things not in the Alola dex.

affection =/= friendship
just run around and level it up and make sure it's wearing a soothe bell. Try to catch friendship mons in luxury balls beforehand, my golbat evolved into a crobat on its next levelup. You can also give it a massage in the southern town on Akala or give it the berries that raise friendship but lower EVs. I personally just have friendship mons as my leading mon when I'm in the autism box hatching eggs. It'll typically evolve on its next levelup due to all the steps i took hatching those eggs.

Okay, so, pretty much everyone understands the lore to Sun and Moon, but I wanna recap to see if I got it all right.

Going from Malie Library, the Box Legendary appeared from an Ultra Portal in front of Alola's royalty, and although they immediately bowed before it, the Tapus decided to battle it. In the end, the Box Legendary won, "shone it's light"/"cast it's pall" on the royalty, and tasked the Tapus with taking care of its offspring, Cosmog. Afterwards, Alola's royalty thanked the Box Legendary through the playing of the Sun and Moon Flutes, which thereafter were mute presumably due to the lack of the Cosmog line being present at the Altar.

Speeding up to the present, the main reason Cosmog pushed Lillie to the ruins was to reunite with the Tapus. And the reason why Tapu Koko chose the Player to have a Z-ring was that (s)he protected Cosmog on the bridge leading to the Ruins of Conflict.

TLDR: The Tapus are Cosmog's foster parents, and the only reason you are alive and have a z-ring is that they wanted Cosmog off their backs.

We're going to need to know what their stats, EVs (Maybe IVs), moves, natures, and abilities are to give you an accurate gauge.

In terms of doing competitive on carts, the one point between 30 and 31 is negligible because everything is scaled down to Lvl 50. If it were Lvl 100, that one point would be important, but that's not the case.

If it bothers you too much, you can always just Hyper Train.

after the 30th you have four guaranteed perfect ivs and a 15% chance of HAs. not a whole lot of point chaining for very long in the first place unless you're too cheap for bottlecaps or looking for shinies, to be honest

I did use it but I didn't have any moves to put it to sleep or freeze it so the catch rate was so low that I got frustrated and poisoned it. I learned my lesson... I guess I'll just reset, though I didn't save right before I faced it. I don't have anything good enough to trade for it so I have no choice.

once you hit a certain rank in festival plaza, you can request shops from visitors. keep asking around till you get a dye shop ("Team Yellow" or some variant).

you technically only need one dye shop to dye anything any color, but only the shop theme color can be paid for with festival points--the others require specific berries. the higher the rank of the shop (the more stars), the more hues are available--the base is just the plain color, two unlocks a lighter hue, and three a darker.

i think you can only have one dyed item at a time, since you need to have a white version of the item to dye.

check shop lists for the striped socks, i don't know which ones you're talking about.

so I'm EV training some of my post-game mons and managed to get pokerus on them. Which is awesome, but I think they must have buffed how pokerus works.

By my count with the power item my mon should be get 18 EV points in the stat per kill with pokerus, but I seem to be maxing the stat out much earlier than I expect to, by about 100 points. Has anyone figured this out? Or is my math just horrid.

EVs are simple. I'd look up a guide on EV training with SOS battles. For most stuff, especially casual play, put 252 EVs into a stat you need (usually speed) and 252 into the attacking stat you will use. Put 4 into a defense or HP.

IVs are mostly inconsequential in casual play. They make small differences to stats. They can be viewed with the "Judge" feature in the PC and are pretty easy to understand. You can breed good IVs or get them through SOS battles. Personally I get stuff with good IVs from wonder trade pretty often, so that works too.

Have you tried a Garchomp lead with Pelipper? Both synergize very well. Have Xurkitree in the back, it doesn't covers Pelipper's weakness as well as Garchomp.

Personally, I use Gyarados, Garchomp, Top Kek and Mega Scizor.

That's my experience with the GTS, really. If your offer is reasonable and you ask for something reasonable, your trade goes through pretty fast. It's the garbage trades that stay on the GTS.

Castform's rate depends on 1) where you're searching and 2) what weather it is. If the place has overworld weather, then the chance of seeing it in that weather is 1%, otherwise it's 10%. Tapu Village has hail so your options are rain and sandstorm, and obviously you don't want to choose sandstorm.

Item-trade-evo Pokemon and happiness-evo pokemon are actually quite valuable. I've gotten legends and UBs from the latter, and final-evo things like Garchomp/Dragonite/Metagross from the former, which can then be traded for item-evos or legends.

It's easier with wild smeargles as they're more common, and you don't have to delete the other moves, you just use the move (if it's an attacking move, just wait until it calls for help and then faint the original with the move you want to sketch, but outside of fake out, smeargle shouldn't be using attacking moves anyway unless it's for breeding purposes.) and then switch into smeargle and sketch the wild smeargle.

All that's required is to allow "Release = Get the ball back" again.

And then just disallow doing this with Cherish ball/Master ball. Or you can do it but it gives you a regular pokeball.

It's more important to have your main stats perfect.
The confusion and Foul Play damage is negligible on a special attacker anyway, the worst thing about hitting yourself with confusion is losing the turn and foul play isn't a big deal.
Especially for your Magearna, who resists it anyway.

XYORAS pokes have a little pentagram next to the Markings, SM pokes a little +. Those markings indicate that these pokes come from those particular generations and as such do not have old Tutor or Event moves (RIP Superpower Spinda). Gen 5 and lower pokes lack any identification next to the markings.
In official tournaments you were not allowed to use pokes without those markings.

Or you can chain Smeargles on the first island. Make the original do something stupid like Splash or Soak. Get him to 1 HP and adrenaline his ass. Switch to the mon with the move and wait for a fresh helper.
If you get an ally while switch and its Sketch fails, fuck it up and wait for a new ally.
Use your move on the original Smeargle and let the new one sketch it. Sketch it back. Don't forget to berry if you're learning Spore.

Alright so I'm in the middle of chaining for a shiny Rufflet. I've been chaining on and off for the passed 2 days and I've racked up a chain of atleast 120. About when should I expect should I expect a shiny? or are my chances still so astronomically small that I'm better off grinding for a shiny charm before trying again.
