Everything about this game screams Hawaii. Many characters have Hawaiian names, the Pokemon are based on actual Hawaiian animals, Alola is motherfuking "Aloha" etc...
This isn't adding diversity for the sake of diversity, which if you stopped to think for two fucking seconds you would've realized is a retarded thing to accuse a Pokemon game of, it's using the modern make up Hawaii to build a visually interesting region based off of it.
