I don't use the mega too much, but I generally don't play anything but alternative metas and OU, so it doesn't matter too much to me.

Because hes a good special walbreaker blessed with a good movepool(attacking and support), and speed tier? Even M-Scizor is weary of switching into HP Fire. If your not a Fairy type, your going to hate switching into his Dracos. And most fairies get 2HKO'ed by Psyshock anyway. You have zero opportunity cost when using Latios.

No. The guy hasn't received anything significant competitive-wise for three generations now. It's somewhat worse that it gets merch and promo for a non-A-list popular mon but is forgotten by GF/TPCi competitively. Not even asking for OU, at least high UU is fine

I was making a statement about being OU. He HAS been OU each gen, which is to say, a top usable option.

The meta favors offense at the moment, with many of the fast threats outright beating Latios like Koko and Gren and Phero and the slow mons being able to threaten it still, like A-Marowak and Tapu Fini and Magearna. The way I've reasoned it, people use it today as a general Fire switch-in that doubles as a Defogger, with offensive presence -- i.e. Heatran, Y, Firium Z Volcarona.

Could not care less for Zard or its Megas. They're fun to use if you like playing offensively, I guess? They look pretty good though. Especially X, though it seems Y is more popular on /vp/. None of the three are my type though. I prefer cuter Pokemon, like Marshadow or Mimikyu. Even fucking Charmander is more my type than Zard or its Megas.

It's actually a good Volt Switcher with Quick Feet + Flame Orb. With all of the GOTTA GO FAST, it's pretty nice for extra damage then switching into a counter.

Pic related for me. Assault Vest + Max attack & hp is a decent switch to certain walls. Scald, Future Sight, Fire Blast, and Psyshock/Dragon Tail/Shadow Ball

Dudes talking about "muh pokemon dropped to UU", most of your pokemon are still used in SPL or has a niche in the OU metagame. While Staraptor is BL and almost useless in OU. Didn't check the viability rankings tho.

Cloyster had a hell of a ride, starting in OU, going down to UU, back to OU and now RU for the first time in Sun/Moon.

But it's apparently still used as a hazard lead even in uber if the smogon strategydex is anything to go by, so I guess that's something.

I really prefer the shell smash sweeper version of Cloyster though.

Zone only counters 2/4 of the Tapus. Banded Bulu and Specs Lele 2HKOs with their Grass and Psychic STABs. And with no Sturdy, it will get annihilated by their Fighting coverage. Zone's niche was always being a steel trapper that hits like a truck, not checking Tapus.
