I'll take anything as long as it isn't a barebones, linear, handholding, mind numbly easy game, that makes you feel more on a tour of the region than an adventure, a meta with powercreep, have the only viable new pokemon be legendaries, only give buffs to popular gen 1 mons, lucario and grenigger, lack of post game content, no battle frontier, a remake with all the fun stuff of the original gone, half assed optimazation, straightforward dungeon design, getting rid of good features for worse version of them previous gens, piss poor character customization, not having secret bases and no pokemon following you.

The next should be a Platinum remake with the most online and postgame content a la BW2, National Dex, Contests and more. Unfortunately I don't want that to be gimped by being on the 3DS again, like BW2 were by being at the tailend of the DS years.

if it's a choice between Sun/Moon with almost no changes and a genuine sequel with good features, story, and facilities, then I'm gonna pick kanto.

honestly though, neither feels great to me. I want more pokemon. I know we're not gonna get new pokemon 'til gen 8, but I'm holding out hope for more regional forms (which are basically new pokemon). as such, neither kanto nor alola really hold much hope, unless Stars drops a new island or some shit.

mostly, I'm hoping for a well-done DP remake.

Kanto remakes, honestly. It would be nice to see the region in 3D and updated to have all the mons. Exploring Johto after beating the Elite Four would be neat as well, seeing what the region is like 3 years prior to HGSS would be interesting.

I like Kanto and I like SM but there is a lot that can be done to improve SM and make me want to play it again. FRLG is flawed but I don't need a reason to play it. The things a remake would "fix" are the reasons why I like it.

I really don't know what they'd do with kanto to make it interesting. Only being able to find the regular dugtrio and ninetales and stuff would be pretty stupid. The game needs less limitation gimmicks.

Doing Kanto variations on 5th, 6th and 7th gen pokemon would be interesting. They have to be in the game early on though. If we have to beat the game to get to them, fuck that.

I mean, kanto isn't a make or break for me, its what they do with it. I think ultimately Id prefer kanto over a 3rd version, but it better not be bland.

Man people would believe just about anything. Generation VIII soft reboot - going back to the roots in an open world for Holydays 2018 on Switch is the most credible outcome at this point for the next games. The hop on a real console grants the possibility for a deeper playing experience and the success of Zelda open world will push more Nintendo IPs in that direction if possible. Plus it would be a huge system seller and help the Switch mantein momentum. Plus it's near the supposed release for the LA movie. Use logic you dweebs.

I'd rather say no to both of these options

I'd like GF to surprise me while these two are way to predictable. Both 6th and 7th gen need serious fixing. Why not do both at the same time? Do a Kalos game with Alola in the post game (since we just had SM it would be better to start in older region to finish in newer region)

If you think having Red and Blue, new forms for only Gen I Pokemon, Hau having a father in Kanto, Samson Oak, and Lillie taking Lusamine to Kanto wasn't foreshadowing something you're a moron.

If you think Red and Blue being aged up and put in the game doesn't mean anything you're a moron.

If you think Gamefreak isn't going to remake Kanto with their brand new full 3D engine you're a moron.

It's not gonna be a third version or DP remakes or RG remakes. It's going to be a sequel to SM set in Kanto. Last time we got a second set of games on the same system what did we get? Not another set of remakes, not a third version. We got sequels.

if you're think we're going to Kanto just year aftet the annivesary (which would be a lot more fitting time for Kanto revisit) you're a moron

not a Kanto hater,I'm just tired of GF to be like: "DUDE KANTO LMAO" every single generation
