I'm sure you would've said the same thing about gen 6. This goes back farther than you know, even beyond /vp/. Ever since I discovered the online fandom in the months before gen 3 came out. From Digimon to too many additions to already established lines, to pretentious and nonsensical plotlines and uninteresting mons, to TOO EASY, and now, it is difficult to pinpoint what the argument is anymore, but it is there. What the feelings are for this gen right now doesn't matter. They will be continually retconned until no one knows the truth anymore. Or perhaps like the 3rd gen, the people who were arguing will leave and only those that came in at the time will remain. I have seen it all, though, and it is for certain that no matter what, it will meet the same fate as this gen. You want to drive your memes and fakes? Do it. Don't let me or anyone else stop you. That is all you appreciate apparently. You don't need your so-called "news season" to do it. Go ahead, fling all the annoyance you want at everyone.
