The situation presented in OP, for example, is one I won't find myself in. If there's only one bed available and I encounter a Pokemon that won't sleep in their Poke Ball, I'm not going to waste my time with that Pokemon. I'll release it as soon as I catch it. If I can provide a bed and my Pokemon wants to sleep outside, I'm not going to stop it. If one of the beds break for some reason, whoever lost their bed sleeps on the floor. I'm not taking the floor for them.
If my Pokemon can't care for me, I'm not going to care for them. If my Pokemon wants to sleep on the bed so badly they'd push me to the floor, I'll push back. A one sided relationship is not what I want, nor what I will tolerate, be it with humans or Pokemon.
