>>32919793Mismagius has magi in its name. Its Japanese name is also Mumage. Mismagius is also a sorceress with the accompanying hat, and it can learn most moves with Magical in their name. (It is the only Pokemon other than Delphox that can learn Mystical Fire, whose Japanese name is Magical Flame.)
Magic is more associated with Psychic than Fairy desu.
Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam are pure Psychic-type Pokemon and are named after a magical phrase (or in the Japanese version, a famous magician).
Delphox is Psychic-type and its Japanese name is Mahoxy (maho, Japanese for magic).
Magic Coat and Magic Room are both Psychic-type moves.
Magic Bounce and Magic Guard are abilities that are mostly found on Psychic-types.
Will is a literal magician.
I don't see how magic has anything to do with Fairy (other than the one move, Dazzling Gleam, whose Japanese name is Magical Shine).
What makes Mismagius Fairy-type? It isn't overly cute or has a mischievous side like other Fairy-types. It isn't modeled after an actual Fairy like other Fairy-types.
People look at Mismagius and are like "Fairy-type" because it is a good offensive type.
