It's early morning. Or so your pokegear says. You had been in the cave for quite a while, with only Pichu's Flash to guide the way. However, it is dark now, for he is still weak and in need of protection. He had just hatched a week ago and you do not want to push him too much. You give him a berry for the hard work, but there are not many left. Apologizing as he scarfs it down with his pudgy rose-colored cheeks, you carefully sit down, confirming it is in fact a rock and not another Geodude you are about to rest upon. With only your starter and one other pokemon besides Pichu, you start to wonder whether it would have been wiser to train around Violet City some more, or at least tell your mom to invest in a sleeping bag for you. Nevertheless, this is the situation you’re in right now, but an exit is sure to appear eventually. After all, dozens of trainers pass through here daily, so it shouldn’t be that hard to escape. How far off the main path can one be anyways? Pichu suddenly climbed up your trousers and onto your head, alerting your mind to the fact that it almost dozed off again. With a quick plunge forwards, you hopped off the rock in a surge of newfound energy. Pichu, nestled gently in the hood behind your head, started illuminating the darkness surrounding the two of you. Placing him on the ground, he resumes to lead the way, and you promptly follow in long strides to keep your energy up. Continuing along the path, two tunnels spring up, one narrow and long, another wide and short. Pichu looks towards you as an inquisitive look takes shape on his face. With sleep-deprived judgement yet an illusory abundance of energy, you make your way to the narrower of the two, gesturing to Pichu, who skips along trying to keep up in the sudden rocky terrain. Assuming a squatting position, you carry on to the other end as the tunnel narrows down. Pichu, having caught up with you, runs a bit ahead to light the way. Only when he stops do you realize where you are headed.
