Coronet being underwhelming, having too much HM shit and just looking like any other cave in the game even though its supposed to be special, the snow areas are alright but you never have any reason to go back there
The snow routes are overrated as fuck, you never need to cross them more than once and exploration becomes a chore because of the snow slowing you down (which gets annoying fast)
Personally I hate the way ground and grass looks in the game, I am assuming its because of how many routes are just open fields
Some of the cities look really bad, Sunnyshore and Eterna look awful, Snowpoint is empty as fuck (to be fair the region also has some of my favorite cities too)
Turnback Cave, it was so bad GameFreak got hatemail from angry mothers because their kids got lost there, and its easy to see why
The distortion world is overrated and goes for too long
There are more issues with the games but I am focusing on the stuff related to the region itself
