- Z-moves aren't all that fun, but have the advantage of being available to any pokemon.
- Mega-evolutions were a mistake. they took as much effort as a pokemon, while appearing for all of about .5% of gameplay.
- Alolan forms are the best of the three suggestions. they're as close to whole new pokemon without being new pokemon as we'll get. they exist outside of a few turns in battle, which makes them far better than megas, and they've got a lot more freedom to add them.
- that said, there were two issues (in my opinion) with alolan forms: some weren't good (that is, the system is sound but some implementation wasn't) and some are partial lines. Exeggcute and cubone should've gotten alolan forms, as well as pichu/pikachu. the partial lines are a mess.
