The anime also had that island with the massive Pokemon and the island with the Pink Pokemon. Why aren't you complaining about those? The entire point of the anime is to sell merchandise and keep children entertained. You can argue that the games themself have some appeal to an older audience but anime has literally no redeeming qualities.

They could have added the Orange Islands instead of the Sevii Islands in FRLG. If they really wanted to they could have included more anime-exclusive stuff in the game if they wanted to but they didn't feel the need to because Game Freak mostly doesn't give a shit about the anime.

You do realise that video games take a number of years to develop, right? Gold and Silver were in development almost straight after the release of Red and Green. If you genuinely believe that the anime invented Ho-Oh and Game Freak took inspiration from it and included it in the games then you're a fucking idiot.
