It can take out a lot of pokemon so it's a nice trade for the biggest threat your opponent has. It's not a competitive powerhouse but it can catch people by surprise.

If you made a team and you have an empty spot left, give Pyukumuku a try.

It's actually pretty ok on stall in this post dugtrio meta. Run 0 def/spdef IVs and EVS with a mild nature and use is as fodder for wallbreakers that would otherwise be problematic, like mega mawile. Not quite as good as dugtrio, but similar in principle.

Not that I watch the anime but I feel they missed an opportunity not having Pyukumuku as a season mascot. The gags and shenanigans you can write for it are practically endless.

While I admit I only use it on a meme doubles team, it DOES end up carrying that team on at least 2 out of every 3 battles. This little shit can take on pairs like fucking koko + volcanion or gyarados + megaswampert on a basis of toxic and venom drench alone.

I have a very gimmicky Doubles team with pyukumuku and A-Muk. Innards Out+Power of Alchemy is fun. Really fucking gimmicky, but fun when pulled off. Also, when S/M just released I tested a lot of teams on Showdown, and one of them incolved using Pyukumuku to support Tapu Bulu. Turning things into Water types for Bulu to run wild trough them. Fucking up Celesteelas with Bulu was fucking hilarious.
