Even better, I had a Synchronizer with me at the time so it has its best Nature.
At this point, I have enough usable Shinies in this game to make a complete team of 6.

Ekans is exactly what I'm going for now, then I'm hoping to get an Eevee or a Wooper. Finally got an egg after ~33 minutes of nothing. I've been doing this for about 2 and a half, maybe three hours, and I've only hatched about 20 eggs. I think I'm going to run out of shit to watch/listen to before I get anything.

I have a shiny Ditto. I do want to try to breed Ekans with the Gyarados, however, but that's when I get to that part of the game in my Silver. I'm breeding on my Gold while TR are taking over Goldenrod since there's no NPCs in the way.

I've been SOS chaining for a week and absolutely nothing yet. The problem is that the low level gastlies know spite and make it fucking impossible to go the distance, and the ones further in the game know curse and kill themselves. Whats more, I want a timid nature so I have to lead with a synchronizer and the moment a lick paralyzes my mon (I have 6 kadabras) the gastlies is paralyzed too and my chain ends.

So, I can only changed when there are two of them, and I have to make it so that when I run out of attacks there are two gastlies so I can struggle and kill only when of them. Then I have to stall with the adrenaline orb until the full life gastly decides to call a new one, which even if it happens doesn't mean i'll attack the old one. Sometimes it kills the one that just arrived and the one whos been stalled for 100 turns just kills itself and I lost a fucking week doing this already.

I've never been one to complain during shiny hunting but this is just retarded. There's no guarantee I'm gonna get anything, and it feels like I can't play the game cause I've been in battle for a week.

Fuck this, never doing it again

Your trainer id is irrelevant. If the two pokemon in the daycare do not have the same OT, then there is an increased chance to recieve an egg every egg cycle. If the pokemon are the same species (growlithe x growlithe, not growlithe x arcanine) then you also receive an increased chance. These chance increases stack.

I got two: lake of rage gyarados and my shiny charizard. I hatched him on my 3rd egg or so in Sun trying to get a charizard with a good nature. Got Modest so pretty lucky (timid would have been ideal tho) and shiny charizard Y looks absolutely amazing. my "first" shiny

that doesn't count. And yes, shiny charm ups the rate of hatched shinies, but you're only handicapping yourself by not MMing. Go and look for a level 1 mon of what you're hunting for on GTS

Pop in your SID, check for your desired spreads, and use a timer because it's at 60 FPS. Then calibrate multiple times and you'll have your desired mon if you hit the right frames. Have a synchronizer to help you out so you don't have to hit the exact millisecond. If you want good spreads AND shiny you'd have to RNG your TID/SID and/or wait a really long time on retail.

FR/LG is completely fucked on retail so you'd be better off SRing or hunt on an emulator.

It's determined by the attack D.V in gen 2. The higher the D.V, the more likely it will be male but it's based on the ratio. Most Pokemon have it so 0-7 = female and 8-15 equals male but starters or eevees are only female at 0-2.

Yes. I didn't use a shiny ditto, by the way.
Had my shiny Typhlosion as a parent to get shiny Nidoran (F). Then I used that shiny Nidoran (F) and paired it with a Nidoran (M) to get my shiny Nidoran (M).

1/64 if a proper shiny parent, over 1/8000 elsewise. If you have a shiny charm in SM, you may be better doing it there so you can get more egg move options although you wouldn't have a guarentee of HA. There would be the option of friend ball shiny Espeon though.

The reason why I'm unlucky (and many others in the comments have also had this issue) is that you need a low leveled mon in slot 3 that doesn't have bad IVs, and most people tend to catch one that does a lot. I've caught so many mons that only caused the game to reset with funky colors, I've pretty much given up on getting ACE to work.
