I think it was designed for everyone in one way or another. If they don't upgrade/expand the current battle facilities to accommodate core players, then your answer is gonna be clear

Looks designed for younger players. They really are chasing the smartphone crowd. I suppose you can't blame them.

But yeah, kids today are surely the reason for the more story focused game and full on sci-fi elements. It's due to attention spans I reckon. Kids today have so much choice, you need flashy things to keep them interested. It's style over substance.
