When I was like, 5, I thought that, to get Shedinja in Sapphire you had to level Nincada up somewhere dark and didn't figure it out until I watched a Youtube video on how to get it.

for the longest time i had literally no idea how breeding worked because i had never bred, so when i read a bulbapedia article on slowpoke and saw that parents for zen headbutt slowpoke were bidoof and psyduck i thought if i bred a bidoof and psyduck i would get a zh slowpoke

For a while I thought Darkrai was Dark/Ghost. Same with Dusknoir.
I oftentimes mistake megas for actual evos and wonder how that new mon slipped under my radar. At one point I found myself frustratedly googling how to evolve Banette.

Used to think Skarmory and Corsola were gen 3, and I used to think if you used a special move while paralyzed your pokemon would have a lower chance of being fully paralyzed.

Less of a misconception. I don't get why certain types dont resist themselves or the types they're strong against. Nidoking gets fucked up by ground but js a ground type so it shouls be normal effective. Why is Ghost weak to ghost?

I have to constantly remind myself that Gliscor isn't part poison, as well as the fact that Ice is neutral against Rock. I guess those are understandable, though.

But when I was a dumb kid, I used to misread and mispronounce names often. Things like "Wurmple" instead became "Rumple", and "Suicune" to me was "Soo-kine".
