The thing is, the genwunners all the way up to alolabortions are vocal minorities. It seems like GF is pandering to genwunners because they want to try and recapture the Pokemania craze yet are going about it in the wrong way.
The thing that annoys me the most about GF is that I love Pokemon games. I grew up with them. However, they are constantly removing features and content and becoming lazier in their delivery of new content that I don't know if I should continue to spend money on their product.
They want their games to be about story, yet they don't give it to us. They want their games to be about exploration and delivery, yet they railroad their games and make them extremely linear. This is the core of Pokemon, imo. If you can't explore and discover, what's the point?
All of this to compete with mobile...gaming? That's hardly a plausible case. And Ninty shuts down fangame projects, signs of the new modern Pokemania, at every turn. They need to acknowledge the fact that a lot of their fanbase is aging, a lot of their fanbase is desperate for content that we make our own and would like something geared towards their taste while not being sticklers on content for their younger fans.
