They didn't even fucking try. They could've tried changing its model and animations in subtle ways to make it different and feel more like a proper fusion between the other two forms, but nope, it's a literal fucking copy paste

They just need a new "Charizard" for this generation, since last gen the new "Charizard" thing was so good with the special Greninja, so this time is a special Lycanroc. The evolution of a Pokemon that in japan, apperently, kids really like. Personaly i was happy for this...i just dissappinted by his "amazing" +2 Att and -2Speed compare to the original Lycanroc Midday. For a special Pokemon they could have done much more then this.

Give Lycanroc Night his HA and give him a move like Dynamic Punch. He'd be able to be at least usable.

They wanted Ash to have another Special Snowflake, but they didn't want it to be as overpowered as Greninja so the deathblow wouldn't be as painful.

Midnight picked up Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Focus Punch and Outrage from move tutor so that's at least something.

Lycanroc Midday on the other hand is just a worse Dusk now.

I agree. They could have done a bit better on his stats.
That said, I do like Dusk, since Lycanroc Midday was my favorite gen 7 mon, and Dusk is bette for the most part due to Tough Claws.

not strong enough to kill most fast threats without decent prior damage, and a lot of setup sweepers/scarfers resist rock or are bulky enough to eat a hit and ohko back. really the only common ou things that fear accelerock are quad-weaks like volc and pinsir

Dusk has a stronger Drill Run due to it's ability. TC boosted Drill Run is actually stronger than EQ + high crit rate. The only thing Day has over it is slightly better speed
