I legit just beat him like 15 minutes ago, I have to say it was pretty disappointing. This game has been fairly challenging for me, I was expecting this to be the hardest fight yet, but it was one of the easiest...oh well, at least Ultra Necrozma was cool. That fucking Ribombee almost got me.

Pic not related right? Hands down that goes to Diantha. Shitty anti-climactic theme that's slow and boring, shitty team featuring glaring weaknesses to both ice and fighting, incredibly common offensive types, barely has any character development outside of Sycamore and her being friends and her being an actress, spoiled as champion at the beginning leaving little to no surprise for the end, and just bland. No defining traits outside of liking Gardevoir. Hau at least is a character. You may not like him but he still feels like he has a personality and is genuine.

True. This is one of those gens where the grass starter isn't all that good- especially when Shroomish is such a good replacement(since fighting is a good type in Gen 3 and it evolves so early) in any version, and lotad is straight up an upgrade over Treecko in Sapphire and Emerald.

Diantha not only loses to Ice and Fighting types, but her weakness to Steel types is very glaring. Aegislash and Doublade can solo her entire team and probably would only have issues with Goodra.

I feel like Eeveelutions are a bit too played out though, I think it would be cooler that if instead of an Eeveelution strong against your starter, he got an Alola Mon instead. Something like

I dunno if it was just because his team itself was just shit or if I had just the right mons to fuck his shit up, but wow that was anti-climactic. Solid elite 4 though.

Alright, here's how it should have went:
>After Ultra Necrozma is defeated you get to explore more of Ultra Megalopolis and get to meet the people there
>Find out there's even more different UBs roaming Megalopolis making it the most diverse Ultra Space, there's a few areas where you can catch them
>Instead of Necrozma crashing down on Mount Lanakila and being ignored by the Recon Squad it crashes right into the newly built league and all four members of the recon squad fill up their teams to 6 Pokemon, all UBs from other worlds and their own world
>They take over the league and you fight them in place of the elite four, they tell you they got into an argument about what to do with Necrozma because all four had different visions of what to do, after you beat them they change their mind and let you decide
>Final battle is against Necrozma, after you give it light from your Z-Ring it gets a +2 boost in every stat and a countdown of 5 turns, that's when it will suck in a gigantic amount of light, all of that comming from your Z-Crystals and Z-Ring destroying them and turn into Ultra Necrozma. Like a totem it calls Pokemon, that being Ultra Beasts that it summons through portals. All normal beasts and Megalopolis beasts are possible.
There. It isn't a shitty fight against Hau and it sticks with Gen 7 going completely over the top to a nonesensical level and breaking the formula.

Hau's was Gladion's rival, not yours. They complemented/constrasted each other and it's their interactions what made each other a better person, specially from Gladion's side as Hau was also influenced by you. And they are inclined to fight each other even after the league. Hau even has an influence in Guzma, he's clearly the protagonist.

This game made me feel like a third wheeler. Even it feels wrong that he's the one I should defeat to become the champion even if it makes sense (kids that came from the same town and oversaw by the Kahuna etc). It even felt wrong that Gladion gave his Type:Null to me and not Hau, but then Hau makes a remark about how "you aren't making things for me Gladion well I'm going to beat you next fight" and I understood that Gladion doesn't see me as his equal.
