>>34383418Yes, and no. As Gen VII proved, what we think we know about the franchise is changing. Indigo will feature a roster of new Pokémon, but it is a Gen I reimagining, and so despite it introducing some new Pokémon it might not be considered Gen VIII. That's up for others to decide, though.

>>34383488The battle system is given new life. It still maintains all the fundamentals of the current system (choosing attacks, switching in and out Pokémon, using items, etc). It moves at a much faster pace, however. You're often giving your active Pokémon commands, and as soon as you've attacked, the next attack is already being prepped. For a turn-based battle system, it moves very quickly and is very exciting. Even battling two Rattata becomes a blast. The easiest way to describe it is the familiar Pokémon battle system meets the Digimon World and Ni no Kuni battle systems.
While Pokémon can only have 4 moves like always, they don't "forget" the rest of their learnset to make room. Outside of battle, you can adjust your Pokémon's 4 attacks, choosing movesets that will give them an advantage in your next battle. For example, say you're going up against a trainer who has Water Pokémon, and you have a Nidoking. You can swap out Rock Tomb with Thunder for that one battle, and then re-adjust your moveset afterward.
