I am convinced Crabrawler Crabominable were not intended to be part of a evolutionary line. When Crabrawler was revealed it was shown in a trailer battling against top tier fully evolved Pokemon. Talonflame, Kangaskahn, Cresselia and fucking Landorus-T. Judging from the trailer Crabrawler seemed like a stand-alone Mon.

these aren't ruined by their evolutions. The evos are just a step down from the original, like arbok, venusaur, croconaw, toxicroak, or salazzle.
