hes a blanket check to almost any physical pokemon, which eases prediction, and hes got multiple different sets which are all great, so hes good enough to be an instalock on any serious team, which eases teambuilding in both that he occupies a slot and you have an easy coverage option for anything that might have to deal with him
hes an outright handicap
the only reason hes still around and aegislash ISNT is because aegislash shit on the new toys too hard when sm rolled around which pisses people off
its the same deal with why they keep trying to sneak deo-s and genesect back into ou without a proper suspect test to bring them down legitimately, despite them being clearly too strong for 80% of the tier regardless of what changes between generations
