I ain't played 7 and I don't plan on it unless it was gifted to me. From what I hear it was an improvement over 6 and as far as MONs, I definitely prefer it, although my list of favorite MONs is different than my list of favorite Gens game wise.
Favorite MONs wise I'd say 1 > 3 = 4 = 5 > 2 > 7 > 6
