But real life ninjas rarely wore hakamas and concealed their faces, because their main job was espionage, so they would dress to blend in to the environment they were supposed the infiltrate. They would only wear the iconic black grab on battles, and the reason for it to be black isn't because of stealth reasons, but to hide the blood if the ninja were to be injured so that they would appear to be not bleeding and that would hopefully demotivate their opponent.
The modern day representation of ninjas are very romanticized. Why am I saying all this even though I mostly agree with your standpoint? I dunno, the more you know i guess.
