>>35300844Fuck off Smashfag. Pokemon games take less time to develop than some fighting game clone.
Smash Bros had a year of development time at most (1998 to 1999).
Melee had a 2.5 year development cycle (mid 1999 to late 2001)
Brawl started development in mid 2005 and ended development in 2008. That's another 2.5 years.
Smash 4 started development in May 2012 after Sakurai released KI Uprising and ended development in September 2014. 2.5 years.
If this is a new game, Smash 5 started development in late 2015/early 2016 and will be released in late 2018. That's about 2.5 to 3 years at most.
Smash games - 2.5 years of development time (average)
Pokemon games take about 2.5 to 3 years to develop, not counting the first 2 gens because those had underwhelming staffs.
Gen III: Early 2000 to late 2002 (2.5 years)
Gen IV: Early 2004 to late 2006 (2.5 years)
Gen V: Early 2008 to late 2010 (2.5 years)
Gen VI: Early 2010 to late 2013 (3.5 years)
Gen VII: Late 2014 to late 2016 (2 years)
Pokemon games also have development times of around 2-3 years, but slightly higher than most Smash titles.
In any case, a Pokemon game that comes out this year should have started its development around 2015 or 2016 at its earliest. If the game JUST started development in May or June 2017, there's no fucking way it will come out this year, as GF takes at least 2.5 years to develop a Pokemon game.
