>>35793208That isn't going to happen. Game Freak is tiny relative to their size and output. Less than 150 employees. It already takes them a decade to work through their schedule at this point, each game taking at least 3 years. While they could just as easily expand, Game Freak has largely resisted doing so for 20 years, after having no choice but to grow from the original four up to the 150 they're at now, when Gen II gutted up on them due to incompetence so long ago. If LGPE succeeds, it will at the cost of the core games. It's just smart business. One line will stay, the other will go, business as usual.
>>35793185In fairness, I didn't say it wasn't. I am just saying that his lack of perspective and meddling with it has only served to hurt a series that, as you've said, was already extremely accessible.
>>35793297They aren't. Core games routinely sell half or less of what they used to and those numbers continue to trend down. It's a clear trend.
>>35793388You are literally embarrassing yourself with that shit. N's story is utterly prosaic and contrived. It tried to be more than a Pokemon story and that was it's flaw. It didn't do enough and it failed to not be totally trite and stupid. The entire series aspired to mediocrity and succeeded. That's a winning formula if you can't do better.
Also, fuck off with that complex motivations shit, Bianca and Cheren are barely even around and when they are, their impact on the experience is hollow at best. Wally was an OG motherfucker. Healed his, uh, unspecified seemingly terminal illness by catching a Ralts and presumably fucking it.
>>35793601While you're not wrong, it isn't as simple as the bigger number wins. Go might have 30m users but only 5% are monetized, no one has figured out how to convert mobile-only users over. But even if you could, attach rate isn't a sound metric. The value proposition is a $300 unit and $60 game against a free phone app.
That's not a sure thing.
