Honestly she kicked my ass in HG/SS because I got cocky and thought my age and experience with the series would win the day. I think I ended up relying on paralysis and lowering evasion to beat her. Reminded me of a SMT fight.

I don't remember having trouble with that Furfrou, but a Furfrou that early in the game is savage. Its ability effectively gives it the stats of a fully-evolved starter. It has high speed and a good (for that point in the game) flinching STAB move in headbutt. Along with sand attack which is a pain.

Not a huge challenge, but a decent one for sure.

Oh I see thanks ! It's nice to see that USUM took a step in the right direction in term of "difficulty", most of the totem were challenging.
I hope this will still be a thing for gen VIII, even though LGPE makes me afraid.

Yeah, despite the shit S/M/US/UM cop, I actually think the difficulty level was pretty bold for a concept neither the developers or the players were used to (meaning totems), and the optional "boss" trainers on each route were sweet.

LGPE concerns me too, but I'm cautiously optimistic that it's an experiment that doesn't reflect on what direction gen VIII will go in.

Gen VII games are far from perfect, and pretty lackluster. But USUM was a step in the right direction in term of difficulty whether you like it or not (Unless you're using Exp Share, and not going blind).

Some of the totem battles could be difficult if you absolutely refused to use any of the tools the game gave you. But in that case I’d wager it’s more likely that you’re handicapping yourself to make it more difficult. I’m not referring to the Exp Share either since it’s a lot less potent due to the way you get experience in gen 7.
