I don't give a single shit about megas and I'm glad they are not making more of them. That's additional plus of that mindset - the newest games are not full of shitty features.
Would I want more features though? Of course. Would I want some of the older ones back? Of course. Just not every single one I liked because new games would be a mess and older ones would be less fun to replay.

Maybe that's why we got regional variants which are a better way to make something new from something old.
