So if fully evolved pokemon can be babies, then what even is evolution in the first place?
It can't be battle prowess because these were just born and haven't fought whatsoever, while it can't be age because these are babies.
I need answers god damn it

it's a form change to certain stimuli, it's just that for most pokemon the stimuli is getting older and stronger

there are pokemon who are the same species but smaller when they are born, like baby kangaskhan just turns into a big kangaskhan when it gets older

there's also stuff like Ash' bulbasaur, which is an adult pokemon that refused to evolve, and there was that dude's surfing Pikachu which was old as shit but wasn't a Raichu

Not to the degree they show in pokemon, especially in such short distances from each other, now if you're talking about farmlands and low population areas yeah but it's inconsistent when you have such massive differences in science and technology being shown and then never showing it again, it almost feels like they are time travelling.

This doesn't apply to Nidorina but I have to ask what happens if you use an evolution stone on a pregnant pokemon? Does the unborn baby evolve? Can you evolve a pokemon while it's still an egg?

but those are two examples of delaying evolution, which you can do in game either by pressing B/holding an everstone or not using an evolution stone
a pokemon that needs to be a high enough level to evolve to its 2nd stage shouldn't look like a baby, even if you used a stone on it right away to get to the final stage
